About the Host

Tom Ritchie

Tom Ritchie is a cannabis industry pioneer whose journey began long before legalization transformed the landscape. As one of the early recipients of Canada’s MMAR (Marihuana Medical Access Regulations) license, Tom witnessed firsthand the evolution from prohibition to acceptance.

His expertise extends beyond personal advocacy. Tom has been instrumental in shaping cannabis education, serving as a guest lecturer at Kwantlen Polytechnic University, where he shares his decades of knowledge with the next generation of industry professionals.

Through Legacies, Tom brings his unique perspective as both a participant and observer of cannabis history. His conversations with fellow pioneers reveal the human stories behind the headlines—the risks taken, the sacrifices made, and the victories won in the long fight for cannabis rights.
