JP Donahue is a writer, attorney, and brand strategist with over a decade of experience in creative fields. He spent 15 years as a screenwriter in Hollywood, writing scripts for Warner Bros., DreamWorks, CBS, and NBC. Entering the legal cannabis industry under California’s medical Prop 215 era, he co-founded Tropicanna Dispensary & Delivery in Santa Ana, transforming the retail experience by opting for a fun, Miami Seafoam day-club vibe over dry clinical dispensaries. After exiting Tropicanna in 2021, JP relocated to Costa Rica where he founded Stoned Ape, a creative consultancy. He is the author of the “Superhero Questions” framework, advising operators on how to build brand-driven, price-protected companies by integrating acquisition, retention, and in-store operations.
